I'm amazing...

...and let me tell you why. I have become a coupon nerd over the past few months. If you know how to play the game, you can score some sweet deals.

For instance, tonight, I bought this stuff: for about $100. Now, that doesn't seem like such a great bargain until I give you some context. I bought groceries for two weeks plus surplus.

Highlights include:
2 bottles of Excedrin: $1.50 each
4 bottles of Tylenol products: $.50 each
2 packs of Pilot Gel 2 pens: free
Tostitos chips: $.99
2 large bags of Chex Mix: $.50 each
2 frozen dinners: $.69 each (normally $2.89 each)
Kraft salad dressing: $.19
3 tubes of Colgate toothpaste: $.75 each
15 pounds of meat: under $20 (good for at least 11 meals, probably more)

And, my favorite:

2 mega packs of Huggies diapers: $14 (normally $40!)

The diapers deal deserves its own paragraph. It was beautiful. I walked into CVS, and I scanned my Extra Care Card at the coupon kiosk (Thanks, Erin for the tip). Out printed a $5 off coupon for buying $30 worth of merchandise. I had only intended to purchase two small packs of diapers and pull ups (enough for the week). This would normally cost me about $14 with coupons. However, I decided to see how much the mega packs were to see if I could take advantage of my $5 coupon. With my $5 entire purchase coupon, $2 pull-up coupon, and $1.50 diapers coupon, and my $14 of store credit, I purchased 40 pull-ups and 52 diapers, and I walked out of the store paying only $14. I even danced a little jig right by the counter for my friendly CVS cashier.

So, all in all, I averaged about $50 a week for groceries, including my toiletry and baby items. If you want to know how to become awesome, I will be glad to steer you in the right direction.

I am so impressed. So tell me...how much extra time does it take to REALLY do the whole coupon thing?
